Newmark Wins Suppression of Evidence in Felony Case, Leading To Dismissal of Charges

by Jeff Storms on March 29, 2011 » Add the first comment.

G|B|B|S partner Eric Newmark represented an individual accused of felony possession of marijuana. He moved to suppress evidence seized during a search by Minneapolis police that Newmark argued was illegal because the search exceeded the scope of permission given to the police to search. The Hennepin County District Court agreed, and ordered that the results of the search would be inadmissible at trial. Left with no evidence to prove the crime, the State dismissed the charges.
